CONVOLUTION: A TWISTED JOURNEY OF MUSIC AND MOVEMENT

The inextricable nature of music and movement is often taken for granted.  On Friday, January 11th, San Diego performers James Beauton and Justin Morrison will explore this entanglement with “Convolution: A Twisted Journey of Music and Movement”. The East Village’s Sandbox venue will host the first collaboration of these two local artists. Beauton will guide the evening’s sonic journey with performances of various compositions on marimba, vibraphone, drums, gongs, and triangles, while Morrison will engage a dance based performative essay on the historical and often fraught relation of movement to music.
